1990
No one knew the scale of the phenomenon being conceived as up-and-coming game designer Yuji Naka and aspiring artist Naoto Ohshima combined talents to create a game and a character that was to be to Sega what Mickey Mouse is to Disney. Although Sonic didn't make his first public appearance until a year later, within this first year was the ever-important developmental phase. The world would have rested better each night in the year 1990, had we but known the miracle that was developing as we slept. (Don't you just dig this cheesy melodramatic dialogue? I do this throughout the entire museum...)

April
The genesis of Project Sonic. The very beginning of the Blue Legend. A legend that would change Sega Enterprises, the entire gaming industry, and quite literally the world. The birth of Sonic the Hedgehog.
November 7
After seven months in the conceptual process, Sonic was ready to be shown to the world. Japanese music fans were the first to get a glimpse at the blue blur, as he was painted all over the tour buses for "Dreams Come True", a popular J-pop band.
