-- Amazing Sonic the Hedgehog --
Oh boy, "Amazing" is not quite the word. Tiger's been doing LCD handheld versions of Sonic since Sonic 1. This is their first original one. Um...cute. Sort of.
-- Story --
Robotnik's created a new advanced robot factory, which is pumping out metal mutants at an obscene speed. Naturally, only one blue dude has the moves to keep up. Sonic busts into the plant, and begins removing the Emeralds, the factory's only source of power.
-- Gameplay Info --
Intense, heart-pounding, monochromatic LCD action! Whoo, baby! Definitely not for the faint of heart, ya know what I'm saying? (Insert sarcastic cough here.) Well, it's got ten "levels", and...uh...the background's kinda pretty. It's probably the best of Sonic's LCD performances, but that's like saying it's the least smelly pile of cow crap in a pasture.

Amazing Sonic was part of the Sega Pocket Arcade series, which included handheld versions of other Sega licenses (Ecco the Dolphin for certain, and I think Streets of Rage...). The series was unique from typical Tiger handhelds in that the units were designed "compact." That is, the screen was "foldable", to fit snugly against the controls...something like a compact cell phone. Like it's going to help anything.
