Panda House Orphans

From Left to Right:  (Top Row) Chillian, Lei Lin; (Front Row) Whitie, Bucky, Little Mirror, Blackie, Bright Moon

There is a good sized list of orphans that call Panda House their home, and it's by no means a complete list.  Some characters, like Sprite, end up with their own part of the story which takes them far beyond what they expected.  Otherwise, they usually hang around the place, working there, helping out, or dreaming up ways to move beyond their home.

The most striking character would be Chillian, the dragon that calls Panda House his lair.  The dragon-slash-unicorn-slash-whatever-in-Buddah's-Name-that-critter's-supposed-to-be that was the object of desire in the first series and what Red was riding in the opening episode.  He's bigger and a bit more traditional, but he'll get more exposure in the Hong Kong chapters.  Chilian resides in Panda House as a sort of pet, frolicking around the gardens and brushing up to people to get scritched on the head.  People say that Chilian gives the place good luck.

Lei Lin is usually found assisting Lan Tu wherever she goes.  Otherwise she's a dutiful waitress in the cafe and the occasional housekeeper.

Whitie has in recent months given up looking for parents and decided to just see what he can do from where he is now and make up for a sucky beginning.  He's currently hitting the books hoping to have his grades good enough for him to go into college.  However, there may be some problems with his street-wise attitude.

Important Note:  Whitie and Blackie are what their parents named them before they were killed.  Nothing Politicialy Incorrect is intended.

Bucky is the newest member of the Panda House gang.  A little bit short on brains, but he can be a good son to a loving family with enough compassion for him.

Little Mirror is blind since birth, but that doesn't stop her much.  Her hearing's so sharp she could claim that she could hear colors.  Or at the very least, she's able to pretty much navigate her surroundings without any more than a walking stick.

Blackie still hopes that he could get adopted into a new family any frigging moment.  He does his best to primp and preen himself to appeal to the newest prospective couple, at times so hard you almost feel for him.  He has yet to get any luck in the Parent picking business.  He thought about getting adopted by Johnny and Susan for about five seconds, until he found out that they might go back to America.  For some reason, he wanted to stay in China.

Bright Moon is a good friend of Pugsy and is more often than not caught up with his inventing or his search for better (and affordable) hardware.  Being a wolf, there is an unknown tendency for him to act strange during full moons, which might become a factor in the story.
