It is a true irony in humanity where Christlike qualities in a person is inversely related to it's outward image of said person. Such is the case with Shazell, a Wiccan who came to Richard's aid in his time of need while supposedly pious people were turning him away. By the time Richard was up with an assist of a cane and a specialty powered and charmed brace, local trends in religion s were given a firm humbling and Susie's own spirituality was given a somewhat better light. By the time this comic starts, Susan is Richard's best friend--and at some instances more--which will eventually bring her into the Night Soldiers team along with him. She will provide the defensive compliment to Richard's offensive prowess which will combine strongly into the main unit of the team.
