Over the course of a few months in 1997 and 1998, I tried to write Sonic fanfiction. I had big plans, wanting to create a saga called the Sonic the Hedgehog Chronicles. It was meant to not only be an adaptation of every Sonic game that existed, but give origin stories to the characters, fill in the blanks, show multiple generations of Sonic’s descendents, crossover with other SEGA titles...
It was perhaps a bit ambitious for a twelve year old.
Though I wrote them with the intent of putting them on my AOL Hometown website, I never got around to uploading them there, or anywhere. I only sent one copy of my first story, “The Hidden Palace Zone,” to one person. After I e-mailed them, they promptly stopped talking to me. Was it related? Heck, maybe.
For over two decades, they’ve just been sitting in a folder on some dusty floppy disc. Not that long ago, I found them again, printed copies I had put in a three-ringed binder. Because I couldn’t find the original files for most of these, I transcribed the printed versions as best I could. Why? Considering everything else that’s on this website, I figured, “eh, if I house other people’s bad fanfics, why not mine?”
Warning: these aren’t very good. But if you’ve clicked here, I don’t think you were expecting them to be.
I do have a small journal which includes brief plot descriptions of the numerous sequels and spin-offs I had planned to write in this fanfic cycle, but as it’s all in middle school cursive , I can’t be bothered to transcribe it. Maybe at a later date, the full scope of a misspelled fanfic will be revealed to the masses, but until then...umm...enjoy?
