I'm stunned.

I'm amazed.

I'm president.

I may as well start from the beginning of the day: I sang. I know, I know, you're all "interested" as to the fact that I went to Choral Festival, as I'm in A Cappella Choir. Well, after I sang a while (ok, I'll admit it. I'm not the strongest voice in the choir. But I'm not the weakest. No, that goes to the esteemed person who doesn't even sing), I returned to school so I could hear the final election results, and not try to gain them from second hand sources. After all, it would seem right for all the candidates to be present when the announcement was made.

Well, during sixth hour, the candidates were called down to the conference room, right near the office. And as I walked in, I saw that many of the candidates were already there, talking. The results soon at hand.
Once everyone made it inside, the envelopes were held. They were opened. They were read.

Before I continue, I heard from a very reliable source that the reason the results were not given on Thursday was that we could "regain our composure during the weekend" or something like that. I don't remember the exact quote. But it just seems a little strange. I mean, it is only an election for School Class Officers, and if I wasn't going to win, I wasn't going to go sulk, curled up in my bed and sucking my thumb.

Anyway, the results were read. First Treasurer, then Secretary, then Vice President. And then finally, the results were read as to who the next class president would be.

And I won.

O_O

This was the last thing I was expecting. For me to become the next class president. It seemed impossible. I was running against numerous odds. They seemed to be in favor for everyone except me. And somehow...I received the votes.

Of course, all of the "popular kids" are now very, very mad. Because I, the underdog, the strange person that no one knew could say anything coherent, is now the Senior Class President of the 2003 graduating class.
And none of this wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for the speech. So it seems that the "censored speech" was in fact a very good choice. Oh yeah, the snapping of the suspenders helped some, too.

I must congratulate all those who ran for the office and didn't make it. You should be proud of what you did accomplish. And I must also thank all of you who voted for me. And, just because I feel like it, I'm going to thank all those who didn't vote for me. Why? I have no idea. In fact, it makes no sense for me to congratulate those who didn't vote for me. Err...I'll stop now.
