Chara Design: Ivan Mayne and Daveykins Foxfire Species: Bull, Brama Nationality: Sudan Occupation: Ruler of Ancient Kingdom of Taurea Ravana originally was a ruler of an African warrior nation called Taurea until he was defeated by Alexander the Great. Ravana was then mummified by a an Egyptian wizard–while still alive–and put into a tomb beyond the ravages of time. The process also gave him god-like strength, endurance and physical power, but also a boisterous ego to match. When the tomb raiding party Wangari was in freed Ravana from his prison and into the Modern world, he was shocked to find his country of Taurea as he knew it completely forgotten from the face of the Earth, replaced with an Africa riddled with famine, disease, and strife. This caused a deep-seated rage inside him and he set out to restore Taurea to its former glory. No matter what it takes. And then some. And he means it. He never did take a ‘no’ for either an answer or a question from anybody, and he isn’t about to start now. And he’ll make this perfectly clear as his promise to reduce anyone in his way into bloody gibbets within an eyeblink. If he wasn’t doing it already with his ever present sword, large shield, favored double ended spear, and a penchant for violence that Eli Roth would appreciate. This character was conceived as a fun over-the-top parody of recent “Sword and Sandal” movies like “Beowulf” and “300,” where the protagonists are as big and loud as the movies themselves. These characters are prone to shout at full lung and puff out their chests to ridiculous lengths no matter what others would think of them. This of course will clash with the Sword Knights’ focus on Wuxia-style aesthetics, where modesty and civility are valued as much as fighting abilities. This would make for a lot of humorous moments. |
