Secret Revealed Written by Jamie Jeans Edited by Alicia Ashbly "I have never been so embarrassed in all my life," Samantha said, taking the mug of beer, just delivered by Rei. "Well, it was one of my more *memorable* matches," Marta replied. Samantha chuckled and downed the beer in one shot before looking out over the people gathered. As usual, many Anime characters and Author Avatars were in the Club Anipike, and, after the events of the last fight scene, everyone was in an okay mood. The death of Lynxara did not hang so heavy on everyone's head as it used to, but it was still there. "Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if Ling Ling taped the whole ordeal," Shion commented, sipping her drink. "No doubt, for future entertainment." "Say..." Marta began. "Please don't, Marta. I wanna forget this whole thing as soon as possible. And speaking about watching, I sure hope Bret hadn't seen it," Samantha said. "Bret?" Shion asked, arching an eyebrow. "My love," Samantha replied, a huge goofy grin growing on her face. ***** Up on the SON, orbiting high above the Earth, Kevin Nash whooped and hollered as he watched Marta and Samantha tear each other's clothes off for the fifth time in a row. "Yeah! Vince may be an evil jerk, but at least he knows how to set up matches!" Kevin said, watching with glee as Samantha sliced Marta's clothing up the navel. He took a huge gulp of his beer and sighed happily; at least for now, life was good. "Turn that off!" Bret irritably shouted, storming into the entertainment lounge. "You've been watching that ever since it first came on, and it was bad enough the first time!" "And you're surprised at this?" Mark asked, coming up behind Bret. "And it could've been at lot worse," Bisch added as he wandered in. "Marta could've done Waltman's 'Bronco Buster'..." "You're not helping," Bret growled back at him. "No way, pink-boy! I've been waiting for something like this for a long time, and you're not going to ruin my fun!" Kevin protested. "Mark?" Bret asked as he nodded towards Kevin. "Could you, please?" Mark charged up a lightning bolt and he moved in front of Bret, releasing the lightning bolt and frying the TV, VCR, and Kevin Nash, all at once. "AAAIIEEE!!!" "Thanks Mark. I owe you one," Bret said. ***** The doors of the Anipike swung in and Jamie Jeans, supporting a very unsteady Alexander Misamoto on one shoulder, walked in. He smiled and said hello to various Anime characters, shaking hands with Kodachi and nodding at something she said. After a few minutes, he came to their table and helped Alex into a seat. The younger man seemed a bit dazed and he was holding a bloody tissue to his nose. "Hey people. Feeling better?" Jamie asked, looking at Samantha and Marta. "Much," both women replied. "Long time no see, Alex," Marta said. "What happened?" She pointed at the tissue he was holding to his nose. "Well, you see... uh..." Alex blushed a bright red and his nose began to bleed again. "Wolf was holding a bachelor party and he had the Puma girls as strippers," Jamie answered for him. "Say..." Marta's eyes brightened up at the mention of the two vixens. "No," Shion said, stomping out that idea. "Excuse me ladies," Jamie started, his face growing serious. "But could you leave me, Alex and Sam alone for a moment? I need to talk to them." Shion nodded and Marta did so as well. The two got up and went over to another table, Shion having to restrain Marta when the street samurai saw Princess Minerva talking with Kiyone. "What is it, Jamie?" Samantha asked. "Does it have to do with what you were talking with Shinji about?" "No, not that," Jamie replied. "Is it about Lynxara?" Alex asked, his face suddenly sad. Jamie grew sad at this and his face sagged at the loss of his friend. "No, Wolf already told me about that. I'll... " He faltered for a bit but gathered his strength. "I'll settle my affairs later. Right now, this is about you two." Samantha and Alex waited for Jamie to speak next. "Considering what has happened to me... to *us* in this AAA and the last, plus what has happened to our friends, I have made a decision." Jamie stopped and laughed weakly. "Lynxara talked to me about it before she... passed away and I wouldn't think about it since I thought it would make me seem like a hypocrite. But after everything, I've decided." Alex and Samantha waited, anxious. Jamie drew himself together and looked both of them in the eyes. "You two are to become my Author Avatars, thus making it completely legal for the both of you to participate in the Author Avatar Arena Tournament on a regular basis." Samantha went wide eyed at this and stared at both Alex and Jamie. "Both of us?! But... then... who's he?" She pointed at Alex, who appeared near tears. "Samantha, I would like you to meet your brother, Alexander Misamoto." "Big sister!" Alex cried, getting up and hugging Samantha tightly. "My brother?!" Samantha seemed absolutely dumfounded. "Yes. I'm sorry to have kept it from you for so long, but I got kidnaped by the Horde and then..." Jamie stopped, close to tears himself. "My brother.. I have a brother... I'VE GOT A BROTHER!!!" Samantha cried out, hugging Alex and beginning to cry herself. "Why don't you two get to know each other some more. I've got some affairs to attend to," Jamie said. He got up and left, smiling as he heard Samantha and Alex begin to talk in earnest. "Happiness is in short supply here," he thought, waving bye to some MiSTiers and exiting the Anipike. "And it's good that they have some, especially with what's happened as of late." ***** A few minutes later, Jamie was standing over the grave of Lynxara, former Power That Be, a single rose held in one hand. "I... I don't know much of what to say," he began, kneeling down and placing the rose on her grave. There were many other flowers and small tokens of love for the dead PTB, left there by many others who had visited the grave. "Both of us were in this for the fun of seeing the various AA's fighting each other. We didn't know that anything like this could happen... I... I miss you... we all miss you... Poor Shinji is doing his best to hold everything together, but he got Vince in on this... Vince McMahon!!!" Jamie stopped and wiped a tear away. "Damn dust. Anyhow, you really can't blame him for that. He's just trying to keep the AAA going, exactly what you would have done had Shinji died..." The wall around his heart, the one that had been erected upon hearing of Lynxara's death, melted away and the tears started to flow freely now, dropping onto the grass. After a few minutes, h forced them to stop and placed the wall around his heart again. "We're gonna beat Dark Sonic and his Horde," Jamie said, his voice growing stronger. "Alex and Sam and me, we're gonna help Shinji through this and we're gonna do it for you." He stood up and wiped the tears away from his cheeks. "And if we don't... then see ya on the other side." Turning from the grave, Jamie walked back to the Anipike, never noticing the figure out of his sight. The figure came up to the grave and looked down at the headstone. Wiping his snout, Jonathon Brisby looked at the form of Jamie and then down at the amulet he wore around his neck. It was already beginning to glow faintly red in response to the emotionally charged atmosphere of the gravesite. His face was both sad and fearful, with a dose of uneasiness tossed in for good measure. Finally, he spoke. "What do I do?" he said. "What do I do?"
