2 E-Wrestlers Night in Neo Tokyo. An Author's Avatar Tournament Story by Karmacide (With some tweaking by Lynxra and Tim McLees It was midnight when Aron Scythe walked into the bar, or at least that was the time though it was. The young man had always hated air travel; he never could get his watch set right after all of the time zone changes, the jet lag was hell too. He walked up to the bar and ordered his usual drink, and then sat down to think about where his wrestling career was headed. "I've been wrestling in the US for well over a year now, and it seams as though my current spot in the GCW is dead in the water." Six months ago he was the Twin Cities Wrestling Cruiserweight Champion and he loved every minute of it. He was wrestling the main events on cards against top rate competitors like Sean Watts and The Overgiver. Now the TCW had gone under and he was wrestling a bunch of mid-card matches in the Global Championship Wrestling federation. He wondered if it was time to change his ring-persona. Perhaps he was too much of an otaku for mainstream wrestling fans. He wondered if he should stop wearing his Dragon Ball Z T-shirts to ringside. "Perhaps the Sailor Moonsault wasn't as cool a name for a finishing move as he thought it was. Perhaps I should stop acting like a nerd and start acting my age." He then paused a moment. "Nah... there must be something else holding my career." He thought. He entered the club Ani-pike and then sat down at the special AAA VIP section. He noticed that several of the AAA tournament's participants were there. Craig Vincent (who was in remarkably good and condition for someone who had just been firebombed), and Myles Buchanan were standing in the corner apparently looking for babes. Team Foxfire could be seen sitting at a table and planning their next move. Pat Lee was trying figure out a way to iron out the whole Chris/Sailor Soulstone situation. And there sitting at the bar with two attractive anime-women at his side was the "Nature Boy" himself, Ric Flair. "Perhaps I should ask this guy for some dating tips," Aron thought. "On the other hand if he finds out what I did to Chris Benoit during my WCWF days, I'm a dead man. Perhaps talking to him isn't such a hot idea." A bartender then walked up to Aron Scythe. He was a very large gray egg shaped critter who looked like a cross between koala bear and a bunny rabbit. Aron ordered his usual drink and waited for Anne to arrive. Anne "Arky" Brandies was Aron Scythe's former manager. She was a Korean woman in her late twenties, who was the stepdaughter of a famous wrestler, and was currently running her deceased father's wrestling school. Anne was a rather attractive woman, aside from a few battle scars she had received over her years of wrestling; she wasn't Sable but she certainly wasn't Luna (the wrestler not the cat) either. Not very many promoters liked Anne; she wasn't the model female employee. Most of the valets went around just looking pretty to bring in ratings. Anne had a far too viscous ringside nature. She was the kind of manager who would only interfere in a match as a first resort and as a wrestler she was just as bad. Outside of the ring she was a nice woman, and an all around decent human being, but most fans would never know that. A few fans asked if he and Anne were dating, but Aron honestly never considered that an option. Anne was more like an older sister to Aron than anything else. Aron had finished his fifth drink by the time Anne walked into the Bar. Aron was wondering if he had too much to drink. Sure, he was only drinking cherry soda, but still one can drink too much. As usual Anne was wearing a pair of black jeans, a T-shirt with a picture of Gadget from the CDRR cartoon on it, and a black leather jacket with the words "Mistress of Disaster" written on the back of it. Anne sat down on the barstool next to Aron, ordered a bottle of B-Old English 45 (TM), and the two began talking. "So whatcha' been up to, nerd-boy?" Anne asked. "Oh the usual, Wrestling in the GCW, and I'm doing so-so, and I've been offered a job in some Canadian fed. And you?" Anne took a moment to think about her reply. "Well I made my American wrestling debut in the NPWA, and my first match was against this punk named Charlotte Blacke. So anyway, I had my stepsister Claire distract her and I attacked from behind, yada, yada yada... and I won the match. Then I joined up with this tag team called the Masters of Disaster, and then I wrestled Rekka Sakura, yada, yada, yada... some brass knuckles were involved an' I won the match." "Business as usual, I see." The two continued talking about their current wrestling careers and then moved on. "So, nerd-boy, how long have you been in Japan?" Anne asked "I just got here tonight. I'm still pretty burned out on jet lag or something," was Aron's response. "Well the NPWA just happens to be taking a tour of Japan so, this tournament just happens to fit right into my schedule." Anne stopped to take a sip of her drink and continued on. "So anyway I've been hanging with some of the club the female guests at the AAA -- yah know, Samantha Jones, and co. It's been years since I've been in Japan and its awfully nice of them to show me around town. I got a program for the quarterfinal matches, lets talk about the them." "Uh, yeah, good idea," Aron responded. "Let's look at the schedule. any thoughts about the Tuxedo Chris/Kintobor match?" "I've got to go with Foxfire on that one, he's a lock," Anne said confidently. "I must agree, unless Nav shows up and botches his assassination attempt again, or if Steve Austin shows up and punks Davie-kins." "Yeah I'd like to see that, but from what I heard, Steve ain't gonna show up until a later match. But I would like to see The Great Sasuke punk Davie-kins for ripping off the Thunder Firebomb." "It's a possibility," Aron said before he took a sip of his cherry flavored soda. While Aron and Anne discussed a the Chris/Soulstone situation, a karaoke machine was being started up. Two young girls walked up and began singing. Both looked as if they got on using fake Id's. One of them had short red hair, while the other; an obvious Kitsune judging from the tail showing from the back of her skirt had long black hair. They began singing that "Summer of 69" song by Bryan Adams. Aron and Anne then moved on to discuss the other matches. Anne made her position well known. "Trust me, Aron, Pat Lee's a sure thing for this match, unless they install some anti-plot contrivance software on the robo-refs, he's gonna win this thing with out throwing a single punch." "No way, Anne, you're underestimating the dark, unholy power that is the Mighty Flo-Bee (TM). Why, if Loki had a Mighty Flo-Bee (TM) when he was after Cosmic Spider-man, we'd all be dead by now!" "Yeah right fan boy, it ain't gonna happen. As for Nav, he should beat Takei no problem. Heck, I think he's got the enough talent to say that I think he should win the tournament." "Well, I wouldn't go that far..." Aron responded. "Well, that's from a talent perspective. The problem is with Nav's personality. The fact of the matter is that Nav's got far too many enemies in this tournament. Combine that with the fact that he's too much of a loose cannon for even Bane to control, and he's gonna be out of here. Not in this round, but sometime soon -- very soon," Anne added. "I guess that brings us up to the Oscar/Star Mech match." Before Aron could go any further, a light *splash* was heard from the bar. They turned to see a petite blonde female mouse. She wore a purple jumpsuit and goggles around her head. The girl is fuming as she slams a glass onto the counter and storms off. Next to where she had been sitting was Oscar, sopping wet. "She's half an hour late and I'm surrounded by drunken jerks. Geez, where is she?" the mouse girl sulked. As she walks across the bar, Anne stops her. "Oh, hi, Gadget! What's the problem?" Anne asked. Gadget smiled, "Oh, that's just the third jerk that's tried to make a pass at me! See, I was supposed to meet my friend Caprice here. She said "Meet me at 11 at Club Anime-niacs, after the AAA matches. It's getting real late..." Anne almost facefaulted. She wanted to comment, but her mouth wouldn't cooperate. "Ummm...Gadget," Aron answered, "This is Club Anipike, not Anime- niacs." Gadget blushed, somewhat embarrassed. "Oh, golly! I just knew I should have brushed up on my Japanese." She leaned toward Aron and softly asked "This may sound kinda odd, but you wouldn't happen to know where it is would you?" Gadget said, still sounding a bit nervous. "Go straight down the street towards the stop sign and take a left at the Go-mart. You can't miss it. Oh yeah, and say hi to Marta for me," Aron said confidently. He didn't really stop to think about it. "Thanks a lot," Gadget said before leaving on her way, "Caprice is probably worried sick by now..." Aron took a sip of his drink, while Anne took a gulp to recover her senses. "Now, refresh my memory," Anne wonderd out loud but isn't Anime-niacs a--" Aron nods condidently "Mmm-hmm!" Anne leaned in closer, "Then how did *you* know where it was at?" she inquired. Aron fidgets nervously "Well...my Japanese isn't that great either. I, ummm, got lost on my way here." "Yeah." Anne comments suspiciously. She then quickly realized something. "Ok, now wait a second. Wolf blames Jonathan Brisby for Gadget ignoring his advances. And she's also ignored Jonathan's advances, but he's too egotistical to admit it. And then while those two losers refuse to get with the program, she's going out with... Caprice? Okay...this is a Jerry Springer episode waiting to happen." "One can only wonder who else's advances Gadget has turned down," Aron added. Oscar can be heard sobbing over at the bar. "Why *her*?! That line worked with Fifi LaFume, and Lola, too! Why didn't it impress her!?!" Oscar thumps his head against the bar. Myles comes over to confort him "Do na worry, mah lad! Their are aplenty fishes in tha sea, and the night tis still young! So enjoy yeself, boyo!" Myles slurs. Oscar smiles lightly and klink their beer mugs together. "Well..." Anne uttered. Aron took a moment to sit back and think. "Also, I imagine that we're going to see one of the David's infamous rants. Anyway, Oscar's gonna take this one. Hell has no fury like Hermaphrodite scorned." "I think Oscar's gonna win, but only because it ain't gonna be a clean one. The fact of the matter is that whenever you run a stable you've got some ego conflicts, and the egos that belong to Team Foxfire are as big as they come. I think Kintobor's going to stab Kronos in the back before all this is said and done." "Yeah, I guess that's a distinct possibility. So Anne, do you want to call it a night?" "Oh what the heck," Anne said. "All right, I guess I'll see you at the Arena tomorrow." It was three in the morning when the two wrestlers slowly walked out of club Ani-pike, each taking separate Taxi cabs back their hotel rooms. Each wondering what exactly was going to happen at the second round of the AAA tournament. They would both have to wait for tomorrow.
