BURNED An AAA Interlude By Drew A. Rhine The figure ran into the hospital on Zoot Earth. The staff and patrons looked at the unbonded human with a mixture of pity and (in the case of the hostless zoots) desire. He ran up to the admissions desk. "A burned Zoot was brought in today after a firebombing at a 3A event. Where is she?!" he demanded. The nurse looked at him and calmly said, "Are you a relative of the patient?" The figure took a deep breath. "Yes, I was the host of one of her cousins. He died saving my life. Now where is Officer Scarlet Foxfire?" "Third floor, room directly in front of the elevator," she said, looking at a ST: TNG style PADD. But when she looked up the unbonded human was gone. After scratching their head the pair went back to work. ----------------------------------------------------------------- The figure walked into the room and looked at Scarlet. "Damn it, Scarlet. I thought you would've been more cautious out there. I have half a mind to forbid you from any more events in the 3A except either as an audience member or security guard." Scarlet's head smiled weakly and said, "Yeah right. *OW*" The figure put his shoulder bag down and opened it as she said, "Drew. I hope you won't do that," She pleaded. "Don't worry I, won't. Davey and I must agree before we do anything that drastic." He said as he rummaged through his bag before pulling out a large quartz crystal that was glowing. "Here's a receptacle I found. Being your co-creator, I figured you'd need this to help you gather the necessary amount of psi-energy." Scarlet Foxfire took the crystal and said, "Thanks." "Scarlet. Susan is really pissed at Nav. I hop she gets her wish to battle Nav." "She has spunk. But then, she's your personal avatar." Drew Rhine looked at the burnt Scarlet Foxfire and winced. Except for her head her entire body was burned and bandaged. The burned Zoot laid there gathering the required energy. Drew smiled before vanishing in a cloud of glitter. Scarlet sighed and began to ready herself for the use of her powers. Nav was in trouble when She and Jim rejoined.
