4. Island Sparkfloe, 4225 AR Let’s just say that I had Jasmine to thank for a good part of my notes, even though her presence just plain puts my hair up on end at times.  There’s just something about her     and I’d say this toward planeswalkers in general     that makes them be looked on as deities.  It’s has to do with their eyes, so aglow with their Spark that you can’t see past their irises, but they can stare holes in your soul.  She told me that she knew all about how I got to that log latter where I got my book with just one glance, and believe me, she does even though I thankfully do not!  I also got my Destiny to thank for her not dragging me away to be collared into being her servants, which by the time I’m typing this she’s already done. And let’s not start about her abilities, because I assure you that she brought with her enough spells to take care of herself, thank you so much.  Also, by the time I’m writing this, she has already established connections to scraps of land all over this planet, giving her enough mana to take up the mantle of Earth’s Goddess.   If it weren’t for two things, that is: One, she doesn’t want to intervene in general human interests.  And part of her finds the concept of being a God to us plain abhorrent; she seen what we did to more qualified folk, including a Judean that can qualify as a planeswalker himself.  She wouldn’t wish to be a general Goddess to the public outside of the handfull or two she needed as assistants whom she promptly wooed, collared, branded, and at times even transformed into people (and other) who gave her selves to her.  She did just that to a couple people I know, and like I said, would have done it to me. And Two, let’s just say it, she’s got more pressing matters:  It concerns this portal from Earth and where it eventually opened up on her end. Here may be a good time to tell you about the era all this appeared.  It’s been 20 years after the Phyrexian Invasion.  Things have not been pretty in the aftermath.  About 90% of the main planet of Dominia ended up eradicated, flooded, fried, dismembered, rendered inhabitable, reduced to ash and grease, or just plain gone.  Ditto with most of the main players in the war.  Of all the characters you know and loved, only Karn and Squee survived.  The pacifist and the goblin.  Figures! However, Dominia is far from dead, even though it requires a lot of duct tape.  You’ll still find civilization on the planet, mostly on the up to now unmentioned continent of Ortaria, but also on patches and areas where survived nations set to rebuild.  One of the survivors was Jasmine’s kingdom. Originally, it was called Mount Sparkfloe, a giant volcano discovered from the Ice Age (450-2934 AR, actual founding of the kingdom was 750AR) who’s constant lava flow created a Lost World-like environment at it’s Texas-sized crater, with species of creatures never seen elsewhere, such as the kitsune-like Vintanii, one of the few Furry creature classes on Dominaria.  During the Invasion, the vicinity mountain range was flooded with the volcano crater surviving, creating a new role for the now Island Sparkfloe; a way- station for the mass pilgrimage to Ortaria.
