This story was inspired by one verse to one song...if you've seen the video, it's easier to understand the 'why' in this story... SuniPhenix Studios presents.... *A Sonia and da Fox Special* StH-World That I Know * Sonia the Hedgehog (c) Emily Smith Davey Crockett (c) David Gonterman Old Man Coyote is the Spirt of the Navie American People 'World That I Know' chorus by Colletive Soul * *And I walk upon high,* *And I step to the edge,* *Just to see my world below.* *And I laugh to myself,* *As the tears run down;* *It's the world that I know* *The world I know* **** Sonia continued her acent on the Death Egg. Tears formed in her eyes, but she kept on. Higher, higher, until she had reached the top. A few fights down, she had thrown her backpack, her vest, every thing except her boots. She hadn't felt the rush of wind against her fur in a long time. It felt like she was free again, from the shackles of socity. Anyway, Sal went around in nothing _but_ a vest and boots, and Sonic wore nothing. Yet, she felt forced to wear clothes, but now her more Sal-like barefur body stood stark against the evening sky. Sonia cried out in sorrow as she reached the top. She pulled her hair an wept. Falling on her knees, she belted out at the top of her lungs: "*I DON'T WANNA LIVE ANY MORE*!!!" **** Davey pulled up against the side of Death Egg. He sniffed around and caught something familiar. Using his tracking, he found something lying on the ground: Sonia's Vest. "What the phrack?!?" Davey found a pair of jeans and a shirt, along with PheonixFire and a picture of himself. He dug around in frantic panic in her jean pocket to find a note. It read: Dear David, I cannot stand life any more. My father, my mother, my cousin...even myself. I'm fed up with me. By the time you read this I will be with my grandmothers. I love you, David. Take care of my family, and Kopter. I love you all. But now, there's nothing for me. I can't take another day of being reminded about my past, a horrid, hiding one. I do not want to be a bother to any of you again. David...I love you, to the last breath that I will take. And that is soon. War Minister Commandress Boometia Sonia Madylin Rachel'Magdon Hedgehog of the Fifth House of Chaosraol, City of the Sound "...no...suni.."Davey wiped a tear away sorrowfully,"were could you..." The fox looked up at the dismal 100+ meter skyscraper. "...be?.." **** Sonia removed her boots and placed them on the ledge. She hummed thruoght her tears a song her newly freed aunt sang to her, so long ago. Her tremblius alto carried around the dusky city. Another Tommorow, New Dawn of a Day, When our People are Freed, No More of the Fray We See Tommorow, Bright Sun Shining thru. To give our People The Peace that is Due. Sonia wondered at the word as she stepped up on the ledge. After this, she would never see another day, a dawn , a sun, a free Mobius. But what would it matter, huh? She would be out of the problems of her friends... ...but what about David? David would be alone...but... ...better off with out her. **** Davey grunted. To avoid being senced, he had engaged a cloak on himself. He knew his wings would give a energy signal to trace, so he was climbing up the building. Davey had noticed that Sonia must have done the same cloak: he couldn't sence her. But he felt her presence in his mind. The had been so close over the last few months, they could now communicate thru telepathy. Davey had tried all ready to reach her, but all he got were the chaotic cries from Phenix herself, trying everything in her power to stop Sonia. But Sonia's will was tough, her mind set. He pulled up another few meters. Davey hoped he wasn't to late. **** Sonia let her feet dangle over the deadly drop. Slowly, she got up. Taking a timid step to the edge, she looked around the skyline, and the last rays of sun. The forest in which she had made her home, the mountains, the ocean, the island that dangled from the stary space. Sonia raised her hands as if to fly like the birds that soared in the distance. Tears flowed as she let herself fall forward. "It's the world I knew." **** Davey reached the edge just as Sonia began to fall. He tried to extend his arm to reach her...but to late. "SONIA! NOO!!" **** Sonia heard the cry of her beloved. She wished she could turn at that moment to say one last good bye when she felt a slight pressure on her arm. It was pushing her. "Old Man?" The raven righted Sonia and nodded, adding, "Foolish child. Never do something like this again." With that, the spirt flew away. "Sonia?" Sonia turned to the fox with his red glowing eyes briming with tears. "David!" She speed over to him, almost knocking him down. She soaked his chest with tears as she ran on about 'sorry' and 'never again'. The relived fox began crying in joy that his love had not gone to her Maker. "Oh,DavidI'msorry!Forgivemeplease,I'll explainmyself--"She sobbed. Davey rocked her back and forth in his arms and whispered to Sonia, "It's okay...your note told me everything..." Sonia looked at him with eyes red but filled with gratitude,-*Thank you, my reason for living.*- *^Hey, what are friends for?^* Sonia smiled and raised her head, -*Thank you...*- She brought her lips over his as they hugged and sobbed. He pulled away, and staring into her grey-green eyes, thought, *^Let's go home^* -*I love you David. Thank you...for everything.*- **** Epilouge: Sonia had more than on reason for living:Her family, her friends, her love, and her duty. But also her land: One thing that she would die for, and the only way she would go. That was her promise. That is one she shall keep. ****
