Raza the Cruel smiled as the 4 score rats joined her. She was now leader of them! She walked up
the causeway steps to the surface. Many plans went through her mind but none of them told her
what to do as she came face to face with Sonic Hedgehog!

It was hard to tell who was more surprised, Sonic or Raza. Sonic got into a spin dash but Raza
ducked out of the way and flung two rats into Sonic's way. She ran back down. The reedy voice
emmited from the statue of the polecat. "This is your fault wolf! I will deal with you later.
Balefur! Throw my full host upon these impudent intruders!"

The minute battle started, the gypsies disappeared like the did in the battle with the rats at
the river. Sonic and Knuckles were a complete fighting machine, Sonic with his spin dash and 
Knuckles with his fists. Ringo picked up a fallen axe and started into combat. Jabez clawed and
bit while Anil and Ryan were picking up rats. "There, Anil, grab that fella next to you." Ryan
told the wolf. Balefur had been standing on a rock encoureging the rats. "We're going to throw
you over to your boss. Tell him to shut up." Ryan and Anil threw the rat. The vermin fell short
of Balefur only to land on the spears of his own horde. "Oh, tut tut, Anil, what have I told you
about keeping your end up? Ah, never mind. Grab that stinky fellow beside you."

The captives sat in their cells. Liz cried. "Oh, what's that? Their going to kill us!"
Tails put his ear against the door. "Someone's out there!"
He banged on the door and yelled as everyone joined him. "HELP!"

The gypsies were in the hallway. Soni slumped against the door. "I'm beat. I was sure we could
find some slaves to help us but I can't find any."
An otter gypsy, Clari, slumped beside his leader. "I know what you mean matey. We promised Sonic
we'd help them find their young ones."
Soni suddenly put his ear against the door. "Wait, I hear something!"
He banged on the door. "Clari, help me open this. Slaves are in here!"

"Their......their opening the door!" Callista cried.
Liz wept along with Dhorba and Rocko, who had been quiet for most of the journey.
"Okay, this is it. We will fight to the death. And in case we never meet again, Goodbye my
friends." Tails said in a soft voice.
The door opened. Tails and his friends lept at the intruders. They punched bit and kicked until
Tails heard his name. "Tails, get off! Tails, it's Soni, Sonic's friend of the gypsies!"
Tails found himself nearly strangling Soni as the gypsy hedgehog pushed the fox off of him. Clari
smiled at the young ones. "What a bunch of warriors!"
"This is your lucky day. We've joined forces with the Guosim, Sonic, Sally, Knuckles, Ryan, Ringo
Jabez and a wolf to come and rescue you."
Tails laughed as the King of Gypsies severed his chains. "Ha ha, we're free! It's Sonic's friends
the gypsies! Oh thank you Mister Soni, thank you!"
The hedgehog looked modest. "No time for that. We need to recrute more slaves to help in the 
battle going on down there!"

The battle waged both sides. Thomas and his Guosim were causing devastation to the other side and
fought like little deamons. Without knowing it, Thomas bumbed into the polecat statue, knocking
something out of it. He finally noticed it and didn't really care, so he kept on fighting.

Meanwhile, the gypsies were raising an army of slaves. Soni was walking along when he saw some
thing under a basket. The basket lifted, a slobbering mess came out. The King of Gypsies looked
at it. The Swartt statue was majestic. This Swartt was gross! Scarbourus fur was in white clumps.
He had long claws. When he spoke, he almost sounded pitiful. "You have looked upon Swartt. You
must die."

A rock hit the head of the polecat. Swartt whimpered as an army of slaves came upon them. "Die
evil one, die."
"We will bury you with pieces of your own kingdom!"
Swartt was already buried by rocks but the slaves kept piling them on. Soni and the gypsies
hurridly freed the slaves and got ready to do combat.

Sonic looked up to see the gypsies come out with their large army of slaves. "What ho, I see our
gypsy friend decided to take steps to help us." Ryan cried happily.
The light of battle lost Sonic as he looked into Tails's eyes. He hugged the two tailed fox. 
"Tails! Your alive!"
Tails cried with happiness. "Sonic! I knew you'd find me!"
Soni and his gypsies looked at each other. "Unfortunately, we need to leave. Maybe we'll meet 
again sometime, Sonic the Hedgehog."
Sonic smiled. "See ya around, Soni!"

Within an hour, the once mighty horde of Swartt had been vanquished. Sonic held up his fist. 
"Follow me to Knothole!"
Everyone gave out a cheer.
Deepblade ran away and went up a hill. Suddenly he backed down. "No, no I wasn't with them!"
Deepblade died without a sound.
"Raza!"
Sonic ran up to intercept the wolf. She ran as Sonic tripped. The hedgehog got up. "I swore to 
kill that wolf! She got away!"
The seer Wiggins of the Guosim watched the wolf run. "Not exactly......"

Raza ran until she couldn't see the freedom fighters. "Ha ha, no one can stop me! I WILL kill you
Sonic Hedgehog!"
A black gloved hand came down upon Raza's skull, knocking the wolf out. "Bad form, old chapess,
but we'll find out if your guilty or innocent soon!"

Raza awoke to find herself in a cave surrounded by gypsies. Seated on a rock that was shaped like
a throne was Clopin, King of Gypsies. He and the gypsies smiled at the masked wolf mercilessly.
"Maybe you've heard of a terrible place
Where the scoundrels of Mobius collect in a lair
Maybe you've heard of that mythical place called the Cave of Miracles
Hello, you're there!
Where the lame can walk and the blind can see
But the dead don't talk so you won't be around to reveal what you've found!
We have a method for spies and intruders rather like hornets protecting their hive
Here in the Cave of Miracles where it's a miracle if you get out alive!"

Clopin looked at the female wolf.
"Justice is swift in the Cave of Miracles
I am the lawyers and judge all in one!
We like to get the trial over with quickly
because it's the sentence that's really the fun!
Any last words?" Clopin held up a piece of paper.
"Hmm. I, Raza wolf, will steal the young ones from Knothole in return for payment from Dr.
Robotnik. Now that we've seen all the evidence..."
"Wait, I object!"
"Overruled!"
"I object!"
"QUIET!!!"
"Dang."
"We find you guilty of slavery which is the worst crime of all."
The sword that Clopin was holding plunged into Raza's back as the gypsies threw their weapons at
the wolf slaver. "So you're going to die!"

At Knothole, Miyasha took watch. It had been almost a season since Sonic and his friends left.
Sonia and Sasha came up to join her. "Any sight of them?" Sasha asked.
"No."
Sonia looked out to the south. "Sonia, what is it?"
"Dust!"
"Must be a great army to put up such a dust cloud."
"Look! It's Sonic! And he's got Tails!"
"There Sally and Liz!"
"Look! A wolf!"
So it was that Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends returned the young ones to Knothole.

It took a full day to relate what happened. Sonic looked at his friends. "No words could say
anything about Raza."
"A taker of young ones and a thief
Sly Raza only caused grief
But in the end, she was slain by daggars and swords curved
Twas all Cruel Raza deserved!"
Sonic looked up. "Sir Harry! Where'd you come from?"
The owl flew in and perched on a rail. "Oh, here and there. Clopin and Soni took care of Raza."
Sonia ruffled Tails's fur. "I would dearly like to meet Soni someday."
Sonic stared out. "You will Sonia, some day you will."
