Johnny Briz story synopsis, Part 1 Ver 1 Published: August 17, 2012 I have most of Part 1 in my mind, which I’ll put in what I hope is an episodic breakdown. As expected at this time, there are a bunch of holes and places to fill in as this breakdown leads to a workable plot and eventually a script, but that’s where the hashing arena is for. Chapter 1. This is almost all set with the exception of who says what. After Amber has a bad experience with an animation exec...roshambo…she finds a wishing star and wishes for something Walt Disney wished for when he found himself needing Mickey Mouse. Amber’s wish got answered when she found Johnny fainting in her arms. After nursing Johnny back to health, she hears of Johnny’s story and decides that she could make him into the Cartoon Star he wished to become. The script of this will be put into the pitch bible. Almost all of the stuff is written already, I just need to change characters around. Chapter 2. The first thing that Amber felt needed to be done is to have Johnny get used to being around humans. So she takes her to her friends at first, and then goes out with him to shop (She gets a digicam) and eventually to a park to film Johnny in action. Of course, he attracts a lot of attention, especially by kids, and after some touch and go moments Johnny eventually gets into a friendly relationship with humans. Of course, there was a scene where the two scientists tried to snatch Johnny. Johnny leads them to a wild goose chase, and even loses Amber for a while, but Johnny returns to Amber to her delight. Chapter 3. Amber talks about Chromatown for the first time, and the costume designs come into play. In fact, Alex already has Luna’s costume made up and meets Johnny in character. While Johnny notices that Luna is a human in a costume, he decides to play along and even spars with ‘her.’ (Johnny would pick up some Brazilian Jiu Jitsu from ‘Luna’ being that ‘she’s’ into Gracie Bullyproof and Combatives.) Amber posts some of the videos she made of Johnny and already she gets comments. Talk about funding has begun. Chapter 4. Darrin, the med student who took care of Johnny in Chapter 1, starts cross-dressing and starts a Maid-style Internet Café. Amber decides to tweak the design and make it a Chromatown Café, using the funds to supplement any donations given to fund the costumes and stages. Amber usually stays there to hash over script and characters, and eventually Darrin becomes Sassy Hazel, the maid squirrel. Over time, all of the waiters become characters, although some of them are there more for camera and stage work than anything else. Chapter 5. A second chase with the Lab Techs gets Johnny discovered by a group running a Ninja Warrior style course. He’s almost dared to enter the contest and to everyone’s surprise he makes it to the third stage! The group decides to give Johnny’s group a portion of the winning money to help fund the Chromatown project. By now Johnny Briz is well known. And he gets the attention of the Exec from Part 1. Of course, the contest can be different here. It could be an MMA match against a midget wrestler, a sing-along where he gives a Power Metal song the Alvin treatment, a guest appearance in a global convention. Could be anything. At this time, interest in a Scientist on how he got this way is piqued. Would it be the Lab Coats who were chasing him? Perhaps. Chapter 6. Johnny’s physique is put through an MRI (He’ll need the earplugs) and the Scientists figure out just what happened to make Johnny, well, Johnny. The original Lab Coats may show up and come to terms with Johnny’s group. They didn’t want to hurt Johnny, just study him and hopefully re-engineer the original formula. The purpose behind the original experiment that got Johnny’s ancestors are revealed (Could be the NIMH-like formula from the Don Bluth movie, could be some sort of Super Soldier serum, could be anything, in actuality.) Meanwhile, The Chromatown costumes are constructed, with details on the safety features, padding, and articulation in the costumes, by now most of the characters are made. Chapter 7. The first Chromatown videos are made, about 3-4 of them, which is filmed on stage, and then edited to make them look-and sound-like 1930s style Black and White classic cartoons. Most of the support come from after school programs and college students. So much so that Johnny appears in some ads for the Boys and Girls clubs he finds himself in. At this time, the exec appears in the distance, looking at the progress. Maybe he tries to sneak his way in, only to get sent away in comedic purposes. Chapter 8. The Chromatown videos are processed, completed, and uploaded to the internet. The Launch Party of Johnny Briz’s Chromatown proves more epic than expected when the videos go viral in under 30 minutes. Everyone was excited and celebrating their good fortune. Afterwards, Johnny admits of being a bit nervous. He had a dream, and now he had his dream come true. What next? Amber assures him that his friends will be with him on this. Meanwhile, the exec looks over the popularity of Chromatown and almost has Dollar Signs in his eyes. To him, Johnny has become the next big brand, and he’s already written various merch and promotion items in his legal pad. All he needs to do is to make Johnny Briz a part of his corporation. Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 License A short Ordered list of the first parts of the JB story. Just like in the character listing, not everything here is set in stone, save for a few scenes and/or the needed generization of a certain fighting style, or anything else. But at least it's a jumping point for the rest of the comic's plot, which will go in three Acts. The First act is depicted here. The Second Act would be how the group handles its new fame, with all the ups and downs, while dealing with the big bad exec's manipulations and demands that they see things his way, and the Third Act, where the Exec does something that requires Johnny to face him head on. I'm more than willing to haggle over script pieces for some of the chapters here, as well as summaries or major plotlines that go through the three acts. I'd worry about the plots after chapter 8 when I actually get to that point in the page-by-page plotline.
