Johnny Briz supporting characters Ver 2 Published: August 17, 2012 This is a yet incomplete list of supporting characters and the Chromatown Toons they play in the internet cartoons. Most of the Choma Toons are designed by my first partner in this project meioubunny, and his input is a first in a much needed fills to make in the set of character I'm making. They have been tweaked and hacked a bit with his blessing, where I'll be listing here. First Set of Characters: These are the ones meiou worked on. Luna Skunk Original Luna: www.furaffinity.net/view/2440160 www.furaffinity.net/view/6844378 A tomboyish skunkette that likes to rough house , practice martial arts and hang out with friends. I still make her a tomboy skunkette with short hair and button shirt and pants. She acts similar to Rainbow Dash, and her voice, supplied by her actor unaltered, fits into the role. Her Actor: Alex (Meiou's self-insertion, he can design it himself) He's the designer behind the costumes in the story, especially with the advances in articular and the necessary padding. As Luna he'll really be doing a lot of rough stuff, and he wants all of his costumes to be able to handle the abuse. It's when the costume comes into play, be it in description, advancements and what not, is when he comes to the fore. Mary Swiss Marian (Mary) Swiss: A white mouse girl with long curly blonde hair and sapphire blue eyes. Likes to work logic puzzles and Crosswords. A little on the shy side. Mary Swiss: Princess Curls and froo froo Minnie-style dresses, so much in love with Johnny she lets him live with her. Usually plays the girlfriend or the damsel in Distress Her Actor: Amber Merichello, the producer of the shorts. Her crush on Johnny and the need for a GF mousie character prompted her to become Mary. Once the filming is done, they go straight into her Apple Macs to be turned into the classic-style cartoons of Chromatown. Amber is one of the main characters of the strip, alongside Johnny. She's the one who's the budding animator who is frustrated with 1) the economy hitting the animation business just when she graduated from a tech shool, and b) animation company exectutives who have their heads stuck up their buts. It doesn't help much when some of them are stull stuck in the 'Animation Ghetto.' Oh, and by the way, Amber is a Class B Tsundere https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Tsundere with a Class A Zettai Ryouiki https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ZettaiRyouiki; Restult: Amber doesn't take the crap the corporate types keep throwing at them, and in the very first scene with her, she hears one exec who said "We're not hireing," mention something about her needing to put her long hair into Pig Tails and she...ahem...punts. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GroinAttack . Sassy Hazel Sassellia (Sassy) Hazelnut: A reddish-brown squirrel with long brown hair usually worn in a ponytail and green eyes. Very sweet and helping. Abit of a clean freak at times. Likes to help out her friends and clean. So much so that she's always wearing a Maid outfit--with feather duster strapped to her leg, and always acting the role, even so far as to run a Maid Cafe under the apartment Mary and JB live in Chomatown. Her actor: Darrin. He's a Medical Student who's there to make sure that the other actors survive the scenes they're in. He worries about his fetish of crossdressing and playing a maid is keeping him from furthering his education--When he's Sassy, which he finds himself as most of the time, he even speaks about himself in the third person--but it was actually the flustercluck that is the Health Care environment today. Over time, he might discover other fields like Sports Medicine or Physical Therapy. He'd be a great physician if he could just get out of the shell that the costume provides him. Locke Lapin Original Locke La'tex: fav.me/d2htsdq Very mischievous and not above playing pranks on his friends. From the harmless to levels that would rival Japanese Comedy shows. Not even the girl Toons are exempt from his antics So much so that he's the reason why the costumes are so padded. Likes detective stories and playing detective as well as planning all those pranks. Usually seen with a trenchcoat so he can hide all the props he have. His Actor: Matt is pretty much playing himself in costume. (It'll be Locke's SI, and he can design the character.) Sarah Dippy Original Sarah Goof: www.furaffinity.net/view/6463062 www.furaffinity.net/view/5246149 Likes theatre and musicals. Very sweet and always looks out for her friends. sometimes goes a bit overboard in protecting them. Even when her voice is altered to be more toon-like, Sarah has a lovely voice. She’s prone to break out into song and dance at any second, and would prefer to sing her words rather than say them. She also has the most elaborate dresses, even cosplaying as princesses. Her Actor: No name yet. Her affinity with audio meshes well with Amber's visuals, and she provides all the auto-tuning, music, and sound effects in the Chromatown videos. She also provides the voice changers for all the characters so that when they talk in their costumes, the public will hear the character's voice. Patrick Cat This is a character I thought up on the spot, because I felt that we needed a Pete character in the group. Someone's who's basically stupid and antagonistic. He's the group's primary foil in the Videos and does everything and anything to cause trouble for the gang. If Mary is the Damsel in Distress, Patrick is the bastard who put her on the tracks. More often than not he's also the one who gets the worst end of JB's beat-up routines. And Patrick is grateful that he's built with protection in mind, because Johnny doesn't think he needs to pull his punches. And Kicks. And the occasional Lock. His actor: No name yet. He's the one staging the stunts and researching the scripts, sets, and anything that's needed to make the cartoons. He also helps Marc with the costume design, adding the latest trends like articulate mouths and voice changed speakers and headphones for the Toons to talk to fans, as well as putting in the padding that keeps the actors from getting hurt. If Happy Fun Land from Scarlet PI ends up here in this strip. This person hears of it first. Second Set of Characters: I thought up these characters while a friend of mine was sending me pictures of MLP costumes. Only the dresses come into play here, while the animal in them will be changed, save of course, one. Unnamed Horse Character This is the Horace Horsecallar type of character, mostly because he wears a yoke collar like Horace or Big Macintosh. His gloves get interchangeable into front hooves for when he needs to go on all fours. He also wears a saddle on his back, because in scenes where Johnny needs a horse to ride, that would be this character. Unnamed Cat Character 1 Dress is a southern bell with a red dress. Is the On-stage Manager of the Character Cafe used to add some funding to the Chromatown project. Amber plays this character and she uses her latent Tsundere side of her to 'boss' the waitresses around, which are also dressed in Chromatown characters (of various kinds) with different waitress or maid outfits on. (for the style of this cafe, think of a Japanese Maid Cafe http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maid_caf%C3%A9 , but with the maids replaced by Chromatown characters, Disneyland style) Usually, most of these background characters double as those holding the cameras and helping set up the sets and stunts. Unnamed Rabbit Cello Player Styled pretty much after Octavia fav.me/d4lpgvf But the rabbit makes her (or him) closer to Tsuru-Usagi www.superkids.co.jp/ehon/e/tu.html instead. This character plays music for the Character Cafe. And these characters are not Chromatown characters, but they will be part of the comic strip. These are two of the main antagonists in the story, right now they're just one-dimensional with placeholder names, but I believe that with some haggling, these characters will flesh out and become more believable. All I ask is for someone to bat ideas with. Max Lantz He's the exec that Amber punted in the first scene. When he finds out about Johnny Briz, we find out why I got his name from the asshole who stole Oswald from Uncle Walt. He's closer to Doc Hopper from the original (1979) Muppet movie en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Muppet_Movie , in that he wants to turn Johnny into a global superstar, yet marketed and controlled by his corporate formulas and environment. In short, Max wants Johnny to 'sell out,' and be 'owned' by Max. Of course this leads to more punts from Amber and increasing levels lead up to a showdown between Max and Johnny, but instead of ' attempting to appeal to Hopper’s own hopes and dreams,' like Kermit did, Johnny takes the fight to him with a weapon in hand. Does it have to be an assembled keyblade or some other magical weapon? Perhaps. Maybe another chapter reveals this Chekov's Gun to be a symbol to Johnny and his friend's collective hopes and dreams. The pivotal scene: When during the fight, Max manages to cut Johnny, and with his blood making a 'Braveheart' style streak on his face, Johnny shouts, "I'm not afraid to bleed for my dreams, what about you?" Unnamed scientists All I know is that there's two of them and are styled after Adam and Jamie from Mythbusters en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MythBusters . They were experimenting with the growth beam experiment (This needs to be modified from the original "Honey I shrunk the Kids" model) that Johnny fell into. They are experts in scientists but bumbling idiots when it comes to capturing Johnny. However, I want them to be more sympathetic, more run by curiosity than anything selfish or 'evil,' and eventually they could come to terms with Johnny and company, even to the point that Johnny agrees to let them study him and even gives blood samples to discover the original science experiment that made Johnny this evolved. after Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 License I have some help with ~MeiouBunny with some of the characters JB will encounter and eventually work with when he started getting his Internet Fame. This Stash Document lists the intial batch of Chromatown Toon characters and the actors that play them. At this point, there is still some missing supporting characters playing the Toon, but as the saying goes, the Night is still young. I added some other characters, both Chromatown and human, to further flesh things out. I've included two antagonists that really need help, especially the main antagonist. Any and all fleshing is appreciated. (Especially if you can, instead of 'stop making this like The Muppet Movie but,' try to give me a more specific suggestion on how to differenciate the character; give me a step in the right direction.)
