New Rant: 19 Jan 2002

Okay, It's the week after the two new Game Shows on TV, so I feel that I should get my two bits in using this page as a forum:

The Chamber from FOX: Leave it to FOX to want to slide twoard "The Running Man." It's basically a Quiz Show Speed Round in an S&M Torture Cell. You either love it, hate it, love to hate it, or--and this is my preference--hate to love it. Almost everyone in the message forum for this show says it would never last. Who wants to see me destroy that Chamber in the comic? [Evil Grin]

The Chair from ABC: At first glance, this may be copyright infringement, this show may as well be the better show and the one who might actually work: It's like Millionaire, but you're hooked up to a heart monitor. You need to keep your heartbeat below a certain level and answer 7 questions. It also has John McEnroe as the host, so you diehard Tennis Fans can find out just what he's up to.

While both networks wanted to aim these two shows to a nitch demographic of Game Show fans who want their favorite genre to kick things up a notch--a group which I am a part of--it is obvious that the public doesn't want their television to go the way of Stephen King just yet, at least not as close as we are still to 9-11 (It was just four months ago, you know) . Of course, some of us would actually pay money to see somebody get glibbed for real on TV. They're more than welcome to chuck themselves at their Death Trap. I'll be waiting at the 'On' Switch. Me? I'm going over to see Mistress Anne.

New Rant: 2 Jan 2002

As you know, I'll be getting a new job, which takes me away from the apartment for the occasional 2-3 day periods in the week. It is my hopes that I'll be given enough time for me to announce to you when I'll be gone and back, so that nobody would worry about me while I'm gone. (I'll also seek out every chance I'll get to at least get my E-Mail, and I'll also make a goal of myself to get a cheap laptop) I'll also alter my scedule--the first one already occurred twoard Teen Angel--to work around my schedule.

It is my hopes that this new annoyance--I get paid, but travelling and not being online is an annoyance--is as painless and brief as possible.
