A brief story.
In 2014, I drove out to the Too Many Games convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The drive was meant to be around eight hours, which seems like a lot, but it wasn’t the longest I had ever driven (That would be to Georgia for Sonic & SEGA FanJam 2017, but that’s another story for another time). As tends to happen, I left far too late and ended up driving through the night. When the dawn arrived, Barry texted me asking where I was, and delirium had begun to set in. I had not yet arrived.
Oh right, Barry is one of the two driving forces behind SEGAbits, just so we’re clear. You see, I was supposed to stay at his place (along with this guy named AJ) and the original intent was, I believe, to spend the night there and be completely refreshed for the morning. We were meant to do a panel later, the three of us. Sleep is helpful! But instead I showed up in the morning, took the briefest nap, and rolled into the convention. All things considered, I think I was coherent enough.
Later we had Barry’s wife watch Sonic Underground. To this day, they are somehow still married.
I think I sang about Snail Maze in the delirium.
