| Chaos, guardian of the Chao creatures, is by nature a peaceful
being. However, its mood is directly affected by its environment: in times
of peace, Chaos remains calm and placid as a forest lake. When surrounded
by war and hate, it transforms into a raging beast as uncontrollable as
the mighty ocean. Its power grows as it consumes Chaos Emeralds, and once
it has devoured all seven, it tranforms into the invincible Perfect Chaos.
An unknown number of years ago, Chaos was driven insane by the war-loving echidna civilization. In the end, it was trapped within the Master Emerald by the echidna chieftain's daughter, Tikal, who was also sealed within the crystal prison. Years later, both Chaos and Tikal were freed when the Master Emerald was shattered by Robotnik, who thought he would be able to control Chaos and use the monster for his own evil whims. In the end, Chaos was calmed by Sonic and Tikal, although not before decimating Station Square. -- Starring Roles --
