Harbortown Summer Chapter 3- Fighting Friends The next morning, Candy woke up to the sound of foghorns. Barely awake, she made her way to the window of the room she shared with Bonnie and Aoi and lifted the curtain. On the other side of the window was nothing but white. "Wonderful!" Candy said in a sarcastic tone. "First full day in Maine, and we're fogged in completely! Wouldn't be missing much, but..." She let the curtain fall back into place and went downstairs to fix her breakfast. A little later, she was joined by her friends, all still in sleepwear like she was and many with robes and slippers as well. "You guys see what it's like outside?" Candy asked them. She was met with nods and murmurs. Everyone stayed in the house that day, busying themselves with what was around. But the fog remained for a few days, and on of those days everyone was overcome with cabin fever. "I'm so bored," Bonnie whined. "Well, so are we but we're not whining about it," said Candy in a harsh tone. "Excuse me, did I just hear my best friend call me a whiner?" Bonnie shouted. "Well, you're not much better yourself, madam!" "Oh shut up!" Candy returned. "Gee, you don't sound like anyone I used to date!" said Tokio. "In fact, you're starting to remind me of Luann!" "How dare you compare me to that bitch!" Candy yelled as she slapped Tokio in the face. Tokio hit her back, only he hit her so hard she staggered backwards into a wall. "You- you...!" Candy grabbed a wooden figurine off the self nearest her and flung it. She had aimed for Tokio, but ended up hitting Jim. Jim threw the projectile back at Candy but she jumped out of the way and it hit Sarah. Sarah, not knowing who her real assailant was, smacked her brother. Jacky retaliated by grabbing Sarah's ponytail and flinging her across the room. Raxel, angry at what he had just seen, threw his guitar at Jacky. Jacky caught it in midair and tossed it to Lion before Raxel could take it. Lion began playing the guitar, which sounded awful since Lion had never learned to play it. "Give it back!" shouted Raxel. "Or I'll shove it down your throat before I send you through the plate glass!" Lion threw the guitar to its rightful owner, who caught it and put it back on his back. Although Raxel had his guitar back, it wasn't long before everyone in the house was yelling, grabbing, punching, kicking, throwing things, and attacking each other by whatever ways possible. Suddenly, the lights began flickering on and off, and an unfamiliar female voice kept saying "Stop it!" over and over again. However, Aoi was the only one who noticed. She also noticed that no one was near a light switch! "Hey!" she shouted. But nobody heard her. "Whoa! Freeze! Now! Shut up! Stop it!" Her friends stopped. The lights quit flickering, and it was silent except for the soft sound of footsteps on the stairs. "We've been pratically killing each other for no good reason!" Aoi told the others. "I know you're all bored, I am too! But is that really any reason to hurt ourselves, each other, and our friendships?" "She's right," said Tokio. Everyone began apologizing to everyone else. Once all the apologies had been given and accepted, Aoi told them about the lights and the voice. "Strange," said Candy. "Really, nobody should be in here but us!"
