I Pity the Fool Mothers get a day, fathers get a day, grandparents get a day, bosses get a day, secretaries get a day...even groundhogs get their own freaking day. But April 1...April 1 is our day! In the past, I have celebrated this occasion in various ways. Temporarily popping back to the first draft design of the GHZ (no tables, black background, green text, and pink links) or the ever-popular Burning Rangers hentai edition are a couple of past examples. I kind of tried to think of something to do this year, but it looks like I couldn't think of anything nor would I have had much time to put anything together anyway. So rather than an all-out April Fool's gag (most of which aren't very funny anyway), I've just done a little surfing around and picked out some nuggets of fool's gold around the net. Hehehe. www.greengibbon.com -- This just really, REALLY pisses me off. I'm tempted to e-mail the webmaster just to ask him where the hell he came up with the name "greengibbon" on a site that has absolutely nothing to do with gibbons, the color green, or me. www.eternalgamer.com -- Former and returning GHZer Eternal Gamer will soon find himself up the same creek. I bet it'll at least have something to do with games, which is more than can be said of my cybersquatter. www.gsilver.com -- The GHZ's Japanese correspondent (actually, he doesn't really tell us anything we don't already know but it sounds professional to call him that) G. Silver is another victim of our little name game. The internet sucks, doesn't it? www.delphine.com -- Veteran GHZer Delphine, it seems, runs an Atlanta-based design company who has nothing to display but their own damn logo. Nice job, Del. Keep up the good work. www.popcorn.com -- Resident GHZer Popcorn, meanwhile, has started his own voice chat system. ...you guys wanna hear me belt out my rendition of "Let's Go Away"? Dodododododooodoooo DAYTONAAAAA! www.midori.com -- The GHZ's purely fictitious poster girl, Midori, has left us to pursue a career in, of all things, Japanese politics. Bitch. www.naka.com -- Yuji Naka's secret life...? www.pse.res.titech.ac.jp/people/yuji-naka.html -- Betcha never knew that Yuji Naka was also the professor and head of the Process Systems Engineering Laboratory at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. Awesome disguise in that pic, I can't recognize him at all... www.stationsquare.com -- Most of us knew that South Island and Angel Island are both real places on the map, but I think I've discovered the real life Station Square, and it happens to be in Pittsburgh... www.elliotedwards.com -- Your guess is as good as mine, but I bet it's not gonna be a NiGHTS page... www.robotnik.com -- It looks like our man the Doc has finally thrown in the towel on that whole world domination thing and has opened a discount computer store to make his living. But freak not, he's just as evil as ever: the store is based in Canada. www.eggman.com -- This nonsensical site which seems to be devoted to all things carrying the moniker "Eggman" actually does mention gaming's most resilient villain. www.greenhillzone.com & www.deathegg.com -- This has GOT to be more than coincidence. I hate to think of their complete domain redirection list...
