Intense, heart-pounding, monochromatic LCD action! Whoo, baby! Definitely not for the
faint of heart, ya know what I'm saying? (Insert sarcastic cough here.) Well, it's got ten
"levels", and...uh...the background's kinda pretty. It's probably the best of Sonic's LCD
performances, but that's like saying it's the least-smelly pile of cow crap in a pasture.
Amazing Sonic the Hedgehog was part of the Sega Pocket Arcade series, which included
hand-held versions of other Sega games (Ecco the Dolphin for certain, and I think
Streets of Rage...). The series was unique from typical Tiger hand-helds in that the
units were designed "compact". That is, the screen was "foldable", to fit snugly against the
controls...something like a compact cell phone.
