More interestingly, word has it that Sonic Team is actually on the hunt for around nine new members. Specifically, at least two graphics artists and seven CG movie experts. This comes along with rumor that the Team has two projects in the works right now, one of which may be a sequel. (Source: DC.IGN)
All this is yet unconfirmed, of course, and as we all know quite well, Sonic Team is no stranger to wild rumors that frequently turn out to be false. (There are still some folks expecting the US SA music to be remixed.) But if nothing else, it certainly proves that all is not quiet and serene within Sonic Team offices. This in mind, we should know what (if anything) the Team has planned for us next come fall TGS. If there's anything far enough along in development so as to be significant, we'll certainly find out about it this September.
Whatever the case, here's an update on SA's sales across the Pacific: In the second week after the price-drop, 13,034 copies zipped off the shelves. Last week, however, sales dipped all the way back down to 6,649, clocking the total in at just under 450,000. (Exact numbers are difficult to obtain, as everyone seems to have a different tally.) Not too shabby for a console that has yet to get off the ground back home in the Land of the Rising Sun.
