After surging the first week to the #7 spot on Japanese charts, Sonic Adventure sales took
a drastic fall to 16th, according to Famitsu. The total number of units sold was 29,738. This
really isn't as bad as it sounds, considering there simply aren't that many more Dreamcast
consoles out there at this point. Sales are expected to rise again now that the Dreamcast supply
problems are over, and SA has (predictably) already become the top-selling Dreamcast game.
The way I see it, SA will probably maintain a steady flow of sales throughout the year, before
surging up again to a warm reception in the US and Europe. (Sonic's always been bigger among
English-speaking audiences than he has in the Land of the Rising Sun.) And I still think the
English voice of Lead Phoenix would make a good Knuckles, so nyah.
