Sonic at Osaka

Sega held their latest Dreamcast promo on Sunday (June 6) in Osaka, and Sonic was there with power. Among such stars as Hidekazu Yukawa and Kenji Eno were Sonic and Tails, in about the worst damn Sonic costumes I've ever seen. That apprently didn't hinder their popularity with the kiddies, though. Sonic Adventure was also one of the many games on display.

Kid: "Mr. Sonic, why are you still walking around in your crappy 3D Blast model?"
Sonic: "..."
Kid: "Have you been slacking off since SA? 'Cause you sure have gotten fat."
Sonic: "..."

On related notes, Sonic Adventure is one of the five games to take a recent price-slash in order to boost sales. Japanese gamers can now pick up SA at the obscenely low cost of ¥1,990 (about $16.50)...I wonder if this is a viable promotional tactic or just slow suicide? Also, the latest UFO Catcher machine goodies available in Japanese arcades are SA plushies, notably (and disturbingly) barring Amy.
