At the age of sixteen, Iria was diagnosed with a disease to which there was no known cure. In
order to ensure that his daughter could live a full and happy life, Iria's father developed a
plan: his beloved child would be put into hyper-sleep, then sent into space in a special vessel
for safety. When a cure was to be discovered, a transmitting lab would relay the message to
Iria's vessel, which would then return to Earth. As further protection, Iria's father programmed
his own consciousness into the main computer of her vessel...which had an unforseen side-effect.
As it orbited Earth, the "living" computer began collecting space junk in order to form a shield
around Iria's vessel. Eventually, this "shield" collected into an enormous size. As it was
bound to happen, a cure for Iria's disease was discovered on earth, and the message got through
to her vessel as planned. The problem: the monstrous conglomeration of space junk is now
hurtling toward Earth, and if it makes impact, the damage would be catastrophic.
The Burning Rangers break through the shell of space junk, get Iria to safety, and destroy the vessel's central computer before it reaches Earth. Now that she's cured, Iria's in on the BR game herself. Although she is quiet with a warm and gentle personality, her experience showed her the value of hope, and sparked an intense desire to keep the hopes and dreams of the world alive. | |
