-- Miscellaneous --

And these, my fellow Sonicphiles, are the leftovers. These little outcasts have been lumped into this section because they're stuck on lesser technology and unworthy of their own museum pages. Nonetheless, they are electronic, and they are a part of Sonic history (like it or not), so here they are, those misfits of the Sonic Team world.

Tiger handheld LCD games
System: Tiger handheld LCD games
Year: 1992-1997
Info: Tiger Electronics was the first non-Sega company to nab the Sonic license. A whole series of handheld LCD games based on each major Sonic title were released shortly following each of the games that inspired them. One lone original LCD title, Amazing Sonic, was released in Tiger's "Sega Pocket Arcade" series. A black & white rendition of Sonic Jam appeared on their ill-fated handheld console the Game.Com, and even NiGHTS is brought into the fray with their (big surprise) ill-fated internet-compatible 99X series. The Tiger handhelds were only released in the US and, incidentally, are not as collectible as one might think. Included in Tiger's handheld line are:
  • Sonic the Hedgehog
  • Sonic the Hedgehog 2
  • Sonic the Hedgehog 3
  • Sonic Spinball
  • Sonic 3D Blast
  • Amazing Sonic
  • NiGHTS into Dreams...
