I did some research into the voice actors for Sonic Adventure, and I
have some stuff to share. First off, they ARE professional actors, whether you like it or not.
Second, Ryan Drummond IS the voice of Sonic. I found this at several sites, one of which is the
well-respected Internet Movie Database (http://www.imdb.com/). He's 5'11", he's 27 years old,
and his birthday is January 10, 1973 (born in Lima, Ohio). He plays the role of the "theater
boy" in the upcoming movie Cheer Fever, about some highschool cheerleader portrayed by
Kirsten Dunce. The "Aw yeah, this is happening!" man has also made appearances on Two Guys, a
Girl, and a Pizza Place (in the episode "Two Guys, a Girl, and an Elective") and
Baywatch (playing "Announcer/Johnny Jam" in the episode "Leo's Last Chance"). Drummond's
E-mail address is hiccup42@yahoo.com, and he hails from
the Bobby Ball Agency. I pity him.
Corey Bringas is most definately Tails, unless Knuckles, Amy, Gamma, Big,
Robotnik, Tikal, Pachacamac, or the police officer is voiced by a little boy. In fact, here's
the little twerp's picture:
Corey was featured on his agent (Shamon Freitas Agency)'s "Talent of the
Month" page, where they listed some current stuff that's been happening in Corey's business life.
Wonder how well he knows his ABC's...

"airing" part is an error]

Speakin' of SeaWorld, there's a dude there named Ryan Drummond. I'm not sure
if this is the "Hey, I'll play with you some other time!" Ryan Drummond, but here's the guy's
picture anyway:
SeaWorld lists him as "Comedian and host of the Clyde and Seamore show." I'm

Michael McGaharn (Knuckles) is a comedian who does mostly voiceover. It's
notable that he played the unfortunate role of Ken in a Detective Barbie game... "It's up
to me to find the missing pieces of Barbie's earrings." Spare me, please. While we're at it,
here's a picture of the Emerald hunting man.
And
here's the "Izzat all you
got?" dude demoing a bunch of his ads (source: Voicetrax). It's actually quite suprising that
this guy seems to be good at comedy; he seemed to fall through slightly at the serious voice of
Knuckles, but I think he did relatively well. But listening to this RA is just freaky, man.
McGaharn has also done ads for Jack in the Box, Target, Jenny Craig, IBM, Baskin Robbins, Nike,
and a whole bunch of other corporations, as well as a voice-over for an Ace Ventura CD-ROM
(a game, I presume, this is based off information from Voicetrax which simply said, "Ace Ventura
(CD-Rom)". He also plays Detective Harry Bates in the satirical live-action film Blondes Have

Jennifer Douillard, or at least a Jennifer Douillard, has some sort of
affiliation with XETV TV in Canada. Don't ask me.
According to MobyGames, Jon St. John has done Revenant (as Additional
Voice Talent, 1999), Eidos Interactive; Balls Of Steel (as Duke Nukem and Scientist #1,
1997), GT Interactive (developed by Apogee, Pinball Wizards, and Wildfire Studios); All the
Duke Nukem games (as Duke Nukem), various; Big Red Racing (as an announcer, 1995),
Domark (developed by Big Red Software). Odd that they didn't mention Sonic Adventure,
though. (After hearing some WAVs of Duke's voice, I think he's Big. They both sound
braindead...) In addition, there's a Jon St. John working at St. John Artists, "An Agency for
Recording Artists, Rock and Show Entertainers." I'm not sure if this is the "Where could my
poliwog pal be anyway?" St. John, but his E-mail address is
jsj@stjohn-artists.com. Jon St. John is currently
working on Opposing Forces, playing the part of Cpl. Shephard's drill seargant.
Say, while we're at it, here's an excerpt of a PC Gamer interview with Jon St.
John (regarding Duke Nukem, unfortunately):
PCGAMER: Who would win in a fight, you or Bruce Campbell? Have you ever met him?
Jon St. John: Good question! I think that would be me (based on the fact that I am a
larger man than Bruce, I'm not a pampered Hollywood actor, and I fight dirty.) Have I ever met
him? No, I don't believe that I have ever met Bruce, but I do remember him from Brisco County
Jr., and THE EVIL DEAD, and I understand that he's now doing some multimedia voice-overs. Hey
Bruce...I'm not out there trying to get film roles... how about leaving the voice-overs to us
voice guys, huh?
PCGAMER: Do you ever feel embarrassed for taking some of Bruce Campbell's trademark lines?
Jon St. John: Ummm... nope. I don't write the scripts -- I just lend my voice to them.
But you must admit, Duke makes them sound like his own.
I found that at some Campbell freak's website. The webmaster, upon seeing this
interview, became incredibly irritated with the actor of the fat cat.
I honestly found nothing on Elara Distler.
A Deem Bristow has appeared in Freeway (as "TV interviewer," 1988),
Glitch! (Role unknown, 1988) and Terminal Exposure aka Double Exposure (as
"Anchorman," 1987), as well as a guest appearance in Quantum Leap (as "King" in the
episode "The Play's the Thing," 1989). However, the voice actor Deem Bristow (who may be the
same guy)'s voice can be found here. The best I can
make out is Gamma, but even that's a stretch... And, um, Bristow attended the San Diego Comic
Con in 1999. Like that helps us any...
There are so many Steve Brodies in the world, I can't possibly figure out which
one worked on Sonic Adventure. However, there is a Steve Brodie in the Shamon Freitas Agency
(where Corey Bringas is from), so here's that Brodie's picture...
An old man. I'm guessing Robotnik and Pachacamac...
Well, here's the cast that I'm sure of:
- Ryan Drummond - Sonic The Hedgehog
- Corey Bringas - Miles "Tails" Prower
- Michael McGaharn - Knuckles The Echidna, and possibly the SSPD officer
- Jennifer Douillard - Probably Amy Rose, 'cause she's the first of the two females credited
- Jon St. John - Big The Cat
- Elara Distler - Tikal, probably, 'cause nobody else could (except for Jennifer Douillard).
Although I don't even know Distler's gender, but 'Elara' sounds female to me...
- Deem Bristow - E-102g
- Steve Brodie - The only characters I can think of that could be voiced by an old man are Dr.
Ivo Robotnik and Pachacamac. And villains tend to be credited last...
This leaves the voice of the Egg Carrier and the woman from Station Square. Oh
well. Well, there you go. You have no idea how many hours that took.
