The man of the hour, Ryan Drummond, serves up some spilled beans regarding
Sonic Shuffle in his latest E-mail correspondence with resident GHZer Pepperidge.
Most disturbingly, Ryan notes that Michael McGaharn was unavailable to supply
the voice of Knuckles. So who's gonna be injecting speech into the throat of gaming's most
beloved echidna? Ryan himself has taken up the second role, and will be performing both as
Sonic and Knuckles. Interestingly enough, Ryan says that he has already performed as Knuckles
for the English language setting in the Japan-only Sonic Adventure International, and I
keep wondering just why McGaharn's voice couldn't be used...
What of the NiGHTS-esque villain Void and the fairy chick Illumina? Void's
speak comes courtesy of Lani Minella, a name you probably don't recognize, but you have
heard her voice ("The train departing for the Mystic Ruins will be leaving shortly.").
Illumina's voice is, unsurprisingly, being provided by Elara Distler...aka Tikal.
On a final note, there's a strong possibility that Big the Cat will be one of
the four mysterious "hidden" characters. According to Ryan, he's seen Jon St. John at the
recordings... "Something's biting!"
