Ever glance down at your cell phone and think: "Gee, I'd rather be playing
Sonic..." Well, Sega and Motorola sure seem to think you have. A couple of days ago, the game
gang and the cellular phone crew announced a series of games to be produced for Motorola's
upcoming line of wireless phones due out spring 2001. The games are Java-based, and will be
downloadable via a charged internet service to be supplied by Motorola. Because Sega is
developing the games, they've slapped Sonic into five of the nine announced "titles." They are:
Sonic Logic, Sonic Head On, Sonic's Bomb Squad, Sonic J, and the
mysterious Sonic Demo.
The phone series will be released in both the US and Japan, although the games
have only been announced for Japan. And just incase you were wondering: no, they're not getting
their own Museum pages.
