-- Day 9: September 30 -- There's Sonic, there's Knuckles, and there's Eggman, the three men who have been defining "cool" for nearly a decade now, and then there's...the Chao. Like it or not, they're back in Sonic Adventure 2, along with a new and supposedly improved VMU mini-game. I remember my very first Chao, Shou. I brought him to school with me every day. And it takes a hefty portion of male parts for an 18-year old boy to shamelessly carry a virtual pet around a college campus. But that was one year ago, and Shou has long since passed on. He did reincarnate once, but I lost track of him with all my other Chao and he eventually disappeared... So here are the next two Adv 2 screens, dedicated to my first Chao: the golden Shou. Rest in peace.

Don't forget your toothbrush. Maybe a few of 'em.

Is that the Chao Doctor, or is this just a Chao asylum?

The only other things going on today are the announcement of some sort of Samba 2K event at Joypolis in Tokyo and words from programmer Hamano. See him speak.

And, of course, don't go home until you've picked up the latest set of 8 PSO cards. There should only be eight more to go...you haven't missed any, have you?

Well, there's only one more day to go. Only two more Adventure 2 screens...will they drop the hat and let us have a look at one of the new characters? Or will they shock us with a playable Chao? (That'd be pretty cool, actually...) Any wrap-up goodies from the Samba 2K or PSO sides? Will we witness any special events on the live webcam? Will Sonic Team USA do something with their webcam other than stick Sonic plushies in front of it? Will the whole event be wrapped up with a surprise announcement, like Burning Rangers 2? We shall find out...tomorrow!
